Solar Control (Sunergy) Glazing
Solar Control (Sunergy) glazing is unique when compared to standard clear glass as it performs two distinct functions:
1. It stops a large proportion of the sun's direct heat from entering into the room.
2. It has a special hard and durable coating which gives added internal thermal insulation.
This means that the interior is kept cooler in Summer and warmer in Winter saving on energy and heating costs. The Solar Control hard coating is applied during the float process by spraying a thin uniform coating of metal oxides to the glass. Solar control glazing differs to traditional tinted glazing (which works by restricting the level of light entering inside) as it has a unique filter that allows higher levels of natural light into the room but still stops direct heat from entering the room. This will allow the room to stay brighter for longer during daylight hours.
Sunergy clear glazing will display slight visual distinctions when compared to a non-coated glazing unit. This is a characteristic of the special coating and indicates the functional properties of the glass.
